O melhor de Jauá
Um papagaio típico do
litoral Norte baiano deu origem ao nome da praia de Jauá. Localizada entre
os km 15 e 16 da Estrada do Coco, Jauá é a primeira praia logo após o
pedágio.
Jauá tem praia para todos os gostos. Na principal, a da Baleia, pode-se ver
dois espetáculos durante o dia. Na maré alta, o mar se torna bravio e chega
a bater no calçadão formando altas ondas. Na maré baixa, forma-se uma imensa
piscina natural mostrando as rochas características da praia, com águas
calmas e mornas, que as crianças adoram.
Na praia do Japonês, extremo sul, mais próxima a Busca Vida, devido ás altas
ondas e a ausência de pedras é indicada para prática de Surf. A praia da
Sororoca também é indicada para a prática de surf e para caminhadas. A praia
do Grilo, ao norte, é predominada pela formação de recifes, piscinas
naturais e da árvore símbolo da região, o coqueiro.
Outro atrativo de Jauá são as Dunas. Nelas, é praticado o sandboard (surf na
areia) que teve início em Santa Catarina. Ali as crianças fazem a festa. Com
manobras adaptadas do surf, skate e snowboard, o esporte é praticado em
pranchas que variam de 1,20 a 1,70m.
Existem, ainda, as festas populares. A lavagem de Jauá (última semana de
janeiro); a Festa de Yemanjá (2 de fevereiro); O carnaval (fevereiro) e a
Lavagem de Pé de Areia (última semana de setembro).
Além do calçadão para caminhadas, Jauá possui mais de 50 barracas, pousadas,
bares, restaurantes, supermercados e outras lojas. Está a 16 km do Aeroporto
Internacional de Salvador e tem tempetaura média anual de 25, 3º. Bom
passeio!
The best of Jauá
A typical
parrot from the north of Bahia state is the origin of the name of Jauá.
Located between the km 15 and 16 of the Estrada do Coco, Jauá is the first
place rigth after the passage money.
In Jauá there are beaches for all kinds of preferences. On the main one,
Whale Beach, anyboby can see two spectacles during the day. In the high
tide, the sea becomes strong and makes big waves that hit the sidewalk. In
the low tide, a huge natural swimming pool in formed, showing the rocks that
are an important feature of that beach. The water is calm and warm. The
children love it.
The japanese Beach, in the south, close to Busca Vida, is indicated for
surfing since there are big waves and no rocks. The Sororoca Beach is also
indicated for surfing and it is a good place for a walk. The Cricket Beach,
in the north, is characterized by lots of reef, natural swimming pools and
coconut trees that are the symbol of the region.
Another attractive of Jauá is the dunes. On them, sandboarding (surfing on
the sand) is practiced. This sport was first practiced in Santa Catarina (a
southern state in Brazil). With skillful moves adapted from the surf and the
snowboard, this sport is practiced on boards that varies from the lengh of
1,20m to 1,70m. Also, on the dunes, the children always have wild and good
times.
In Jauá, there are some popular parties tôo. Jauá’s wash up (last week of
january): Yemanja´s party (february 2nd); Carnival (february) and the wash
up of Pé de Areia (last week of september).
Besides the large sidewalks, wich are good for a healthy walk, Jaua offers
more than 50 beach huts, lodgings, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and other
stores. It is 16 km far from the International Airport of Salvador and the
average temperature is 25,3 ºC.
